NAME: Andrea Herrera Moreno '09 After starting my third year at Colorado College I can tell you that this is a wonderful place for a UWC graduate. There are plenty of opportunities (academic and extra-curricular) to delve further into your current interests and to discover new ones. The weather is great and the scenery is beautiful. It’s a small campus, tight community and there is a rather active student community. Feel free to contact me with any questions, I’d be happy to help you find out whether this place is right for you. |

NAME: SAKHILE MAGAGULA Ever since I was a kid science has caught my interest in such a way that I do not think there will ever be any other field that will capture my interests more than the way science has done. At the moment I am considering majoring in Biochemistry. However, I always like keep my options open as I am also keenly interested in Economics. The reason I am considering Economics and Science highly could have been influenced by the fact that I want to see change taking place in Africa. Africa has suffered a lot of brain-drain, massacres and to top it all the ravages of HIV and other sicknesses and I believe together with other interested African I could bring happiness and smiles back to Africa. Just before I flew from home to college, I was scared. Scared of the people I was going to meet, scared of the professors that were going to lecture me, scared of almost everything. However, I did not take me long to realize that CC is my new home. The supporter that my professors and the staff have rendered to me makes me feel guilty. This is my home away from home. The CC community has made me to unleash my potential and realize that there is nothing impossible. For instance, Maths was not one of my interest in High School but my professors have made me to think of taking more Maths courses. To sum up, I would love to say that seemingly CC is my beginning. Seemingly it is here in CC where I will be able to deduce what life is all about and it is here where I will realize how lucky I have been by coming to CC. Amazing people. Wow. |

NAME: Leah Chibwe My name is Leah Chibwe. I am Zambian but attended Waterford Kamhlaba, the United World College in Southern Africa. I graduated from Waterford Kamhlaba in 2006. Currently, I am a freshman at Colorado College in the US. So far I have found my experience to be pleasant. The Block Plan was a bit intense at first but I have slowly adapted to it. I have enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with them. Colorado is a beautiful state and the Colorado College campus is friendly and everyone I have met, I have found to be helpful. At the moment, I am taking a class in Chemistry. I am interested in sciences though I’m not sure what I want to major in. But I am very much looking forward to taking the “Latin for Beginners” course as part of my Liberal Arts experience! I am glad to be here! There are simply so many opportunities to try out new things and express yourself. |

NAME: Rashidah Nambaziira I am pretty happy to be here. First, I chose CC for its small size and I think I got it all. I love the way it’s easy to get a professor’s attention in class. The people here are friendly; at least the ones I’ve met so far. I have no complaints at all for now. I like CC. The block plan can be hectic sometimes but that depends on the class. I love it because the breaks are worth it and you get it done and over with in such a short time. I love science and accounting, so I look forward to majoring in one of those. I hope to get into graduate school - probably medical school. Then my life would be all set. The student associations here are great. I am part of SASA and MOSAIC so far. There are lots of new people to meet and great experiences to share. I am happy to have the international students here. It’s like family to me, especially the UWC graduates. Also the International Student’s office is great. I love the way they take care of us like and make family for us away from home. |

NAME: Joe Hauck '11 My name is Joe Hauck and I recently graduated from the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West (UWC-USA) in the spring of 2007. I am a U.S. citizen from the state of Montana and currently enrolled at Colorado College (class of 2011). I am interested in almost everything and that is why CC suits me; this school allows students to explore a wide range of topics in the true spirit of the liberal arts experience. However, I am especially interesting in religion, international politics and economics, and engineering. Currently, I am in a religions course which looks at the different religious responses to the challenge of suffering. So far, the professors and classes that I have been in have been very thought-provoking and interesting. One aspect of the college that I truly enjoy is the engaging relationship that I often develop with my professors. Almost all the teachers at CC are willing to get to know students one-on-one and truly care about their academic progress. Attending CC has been very different from my UWC experience, and I am still adjusting to being back in a school with a student body consisting mainly of Americans. Despite this, I know that I will enjoy my time here and look forward to experiencing new activities, courses, friends and professors. If you have any questions about my experience at Colorado College please feel free to email me at jj_hauck@yahoo.com. |

| NAME: Stephanie Coba UWC GRADUATION YEAR: 2007 EMAIL ADDRESS: stephanie.cobachavez@coloradocollege.edu NATIONALITY: Ecuadorian MAJOR: Undecided INTERESTS: International Political Economy, Sociology, Asian Studies, Art Hi! My name is Stephanie and I just graduated from the UWC in Hong Kong. I have been at Colorado College for a month now and I really like it. So far, the weather is very nice; it never gets too cold or too warm. The campus is extraordinary; every single building’s structure is different and beautiful. I am currently living at Loomis Hall and share a room with an American girl who is very sweet. There are a million of resources available on campus like the Tutt library for example; it is big and has a lot of books but it is also cozy with comfortable couches. As for class, I am currently taking Chinese Language and Culture and it is very interesting and I am learning a lot. There are a million activities to get involved in ranging from Karate to playing African Drums. I am currently playing volleyball and soccer, practicing a little bit of yoga, planning a number of community service programs, learning Chinese calligraphy and working. I am also involved in student organizations such as SASA (Student Awareness of South Asia), MOSAIC (Multicultural Organization of Students), SOMOS (Latina/o, Chicana/o, and Hispanic culture and issues awareness group) and many more. Most of the people here are friendly and happy to help. The majority of the staff and students are willing to give you a ride if you need, help you select courses, treat you to nice home made meals or just assist you to adapt into the American culture. The food on campus is tasty and there is a variety to choose from so I never get hungry. Colorado College is an ideal place to live and learn a lot! |

NAME: Samuel Zemedkun '11 Hi, my name is Sami and I am a freshman. I am from Ethiopia and went to Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. I am planning to double major in physics and mathematics and currently, I am in Discrete Mathematics FYE class. The first impression I got when I arrived at Colorado College is the beauty of the campus. I expected CC to be beautiful before I had arrived, but I found it even more beautiful after getting here. Another thing I like about CC is that the professors are more than willing to help and they are very accessible. The International Students office supports international students like no other school. When you come to CC you have all the resources around you that set you in the path of succeeding in College. |

NAME: Xiaoke Huang In the application process, the real question isn't whether the college has a top ranking. It's not a question about the graduation rate, the faculty resources rank, the selectivity, or any of these. In your application process, the real question is whether it feels like it's the right place for you. CC is always the right place, the right place for the finest liberal arts education. |
