Interview Tips

We are pleased that you will be interviewing with us. This is an excellent opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to learn more about the college as interviews are a mutual exchange of information. We will interview the student only, but there will be time after the interview for families to ask questions. Interviews last 30 – 45 minutes. A trained Admission Fellow, CC alumnus/alumna, or a member of the admission staff will conduct your interview. The following tips will help you better prepare for a thoughtful and productive interview.

• The most important thing is to be yourself!
• Learn about CC - read our Viewbook, surf the CC website, etc.
• Be prepared to talk about your high school experience in an academic context.
• Be prepared to talk about your life outside the classroom. Think about the things you do that are most important to you.
• Prepare your questions ahead of time. You will have about 10 minutes at the end of your interview to ask questions.
• While interviews are not required, they will be used in the evaluation of an application for those students who have the opportunity to interview.
• Dress is casual; please wear something comfortable.
