Facilities

The third floor houses spacious faculty offices for the 5 permanent faculty, a visitor's office, and a departmental office where the staff assistant presides. The fourth floor houses 3 conventional classrooms (the smallest of which we call the seminar room), two laboratory/classrooms (one biological and the other archaeological), and a biological laboratory. Two smaller visitor offices (one of which doubles as an equipment room) and the paraprofessional's office are also on the fourth floor.

Here are some snapshots from around the department.

Suzanne's office is the hub of the department. Note the food at the left side of the picture and the coffee at the right in the background. Very important for students and profs alike.

The sitting area outside Suzanne's office. A good place to read the paper, do some homework, or watch people throwing atlatls outside.

The fourth-floor hallway. You can see Biology's cactus at the end of the hall.

The Biological Anthropology classroom, with some of the teaching collection in the cases in the back of the picture.

Barnes 407, one of our generic classrooms.

The seminar room, a smaller space for smaller classes (but hopefully more learned discussions).

The display cases showing off a senior project on hipster craft markets in New York City.

The plotter, where all the poster-making action occurs. This guy is awesome, let me tell you. A visitor office is in the background.

Some of the department atlatls, used by the Atlatl Club on Sundays from 2-4pm.
