Black Writers in France

The course EN385: Black Writers in France is taught by Professor Claire Garcia in Paris, France.

Block 2, 2008

Novelist Jake Lamar and students Jenny Friedler, Tendo Kironde,  Charlotte Hardie, Patrick Moreno-Covington, Casey Drillette, and Lisa Sundeen.

Megan Poole and Courtney-Rose Harris follow Langston Hughes's footsteps along the Seine.  He arrived in Paris with a dollar in his pocket and headed straight to the Louvre on a day in the bleak midwinter, but a stroll along the Seine in Block 8 is a lot more pleasant.
LaTia Walker, Megan Poole, Maggie Barrett, and Courtney-Rose Harris make a wish after a pilgrimage to see the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries at the Museum of the Middle Ages on the Left Bank.

From let to right:  Alia Hassan, Maggie Barret, and LaTia Walker enjoy a cup of Chocolat Africaine at Angelina's, the historic Parisian tea room. Class with artist and hip-hop composer Alexis Peskine.  From left to right, John Gioia, Patrick Moreno-Covington, and Lisa Sundeen.
