Faculty in the Colorado College Environmental Program have discussed the importance of offering students an opportunity to create a web-based portfolio covering the courses, field experiences, research experiences, writing, major concepts, and other dimensions to their major.
No academic credit will be granted; experimenting with the creation of a portfolio is strictly voluntary, and students who decide to participate must provide their reasons for doing so in a brief one-page application. Upon completion of work for the academic year, the Slade Sustainability Fund will pay $200 to each of the 10 students whose portfolios are deemed most outstanding by the Environmental Program’s faculty and staff.
