Employee Giving

Each year, Colorado College employees lead a giving campaign for local charitable organizations.

This year, the college is partnering with four groups, Care and Share Food Bank, United Way of the Pikes Peak Region, Community Health Charities of Colorado, and Colorado Shares, to help others through recurring payroll deductions and one-time donations.

Care and Share Food Bank is one of the largest nonprofits in Colorado Springs. This year, CC is hosting a virtual food drive with Care and Share, with a goal to raise $2,000 for food and other essential items for those in need this winter. Make a donation to the food drive with Care and Share.

United Way, Community Shares, and Community Health Charities are umbrella organizations that coordinate donations to over 100 Colorado nonprofits. Make a donation to an organization of your choice or set up a recurring payroll deduction.

Thank you for taking the time to be part of these efforts. CC has raised tens of thousands of dollars each year for a variety of causes.

The giving campaign runs Dec. 15-22, although you can still sign up and donate after that period. If you have any questions, or would like printed materials on giving options, please contact Heather Stapish, payroll administrator: hstapish@coloradocollege.edu.

Community Shares

Community Shares is proud to be Colorado's choice for inclusive and accessible philanthropy. With an average donation of $1 a day, workplace giving donors like you have invested more than $22 million into Colorado nonprofits! A paycheck contribution of $1 a day - $5 each work week - adds up to a $260 annual donation to the charities and causes you care about most. We are committed to best practices in workplace giving campaigns and managing all donations with financial clarity. We retain a campaign management fee on our annual net campaign of approximately 10%. Our member nonprofits are aware of this fee and recognize it as a low cost, highly effective opportunity to reach new audiences and donors. Support the organizations you care about most like Trails and Open Space Coalition, Citizens Project, Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation, Planned Parenthood, Colorado Public Radio, Pikes Peak Justice & Peace Commission, and Inside/Out Youth Services. For more information or questions about Community Shares please contact Erin Atwell at erin@cshares.org.

Pikes Peak United Way (PPUW)

PPUW provides a safety net to the most vulnerable people in El Paso and Teller Counties. Last year over 130,000 lives were improved through your support. Agency programs are assessed by over 100 business and civic volunteers both prior to and after funding to ensure donations are used to meet the greatest needs. And thanks to our Cornerstone partners, PPUW administrative and fundraising costs are underwritten, ensuring your entire donation goes directly to help those in need. Our 41 partner agencies include Care and Share Food Bank, Energy Resource Center, Partners in Housing, TESSA and the Southern Colorado AIDS Project. For more information or questions please contact Josh Gates at josh@ppunitedway.org.

Community Health Charities of Colorado (CHC)

CHC is a non-profit organization founded by Colorado health and disability charities over 30 years ago, and governed today by their member charities. CHC was established to make payroll related fundraising more cost effective for local health charities, and to make it easy for employees to support local health charities important to them. CHC's member charities annually approve a cost-sharing model which funds the budget of CHC, and the approved campaign management fee in 2011-2012 is 13.8%. All 42 charities represented by CHC as giving options for Colorado College employees provide direct services to El Paso and Teller County residents facing chronic illness, disability or health issues - organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association, Kids in Need of Dentistry and National MS Society. For more information or questions about Community Health Charities please contact Chris Sautter at csautter@healthcharities.org.
