Aficionados Series: “Converging Streams in the Spanish Colonial Art of New Mexico”

Description

After receiving her M.A. in art history, Robin Farwell Gavin, chief curator of the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art in Santa Fe, N.M., launched her museum career as a contract archaeologist with the Laboratory of Anthropology at the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Gavin served as curator of Spanish Colonial art at the Museum of International Folk Art for 17 years, and has served as the lead curator on more than 30 exhibitions of the Spanish Colonial arts of Mexico and New Mexico. Her vast resume of publications includes “Traditional Arts of Spanish New Mexico: The Hispanic Heritage Wing at the Museum of International Folk Art” and “Ceramica y Cultura: The Story of Spanish and Mexican Mayolica.” Reservations and cancellations are required by Friday, November 29.
