Dear Fellow Denver Alumni,

The Colorado Springs alumni are challenging us Denverites to an annual giving challenge to increase alumni participation in the Achieving Our Vision campaign. Colorado Springs alumni say they can get a higher percentage of their CC grads to give back to our alma mater. The challenge starts NOW and continues until June 30, 2009.

In support of CC’s current and future students, I ask you to join me in handing a swift defeat to our neighbors to the south.

When you donate as part of this challenge, I encourage you to designate your dollars to financial aid to help current and future students. I know this is especially important during these challenging economic times as so many students and families need more and more assistance.

Alumni in Colorado Springs are taking this challenge seriously. Some have already started taunting and jeering us Denver alumni. Beale Tejada ’07 even went as far to say, “The “D” in Denver stands for “Dominated.” As a proud Denver CC alum, I refuse to sit around idly while Colorado Springs alumni increase their participation numbers. Although we all know that their efforts are ultimately in vain, we need to surge ahead early to secure a strong victory. Let’s give those Springs alumni a run for their money!

Each donation helps put us ahead, regardless of its size. I made a donation last night and I am asking you to join me in doing the same right now. Invite other CC friends in Denver to participate in this challenge—the more alumni who give, the better.

With your support, the College can sustain the unique intellectual adventure it provides its students. The school needs our help and Colorado Springs alumni need to see the true superiority of their northern neighbors!
