Areas of expertise: I am an expert in scanned probe microscopy and superconductivity. Scanned probe microscopy includes scanning tunneling microscopes and atomic force microscopes, both of which can take pictures of materials at atomic or near atomic scales. I am also an expert in superconductivity in which certain materials lose all resistance to electrical flow below a certain temperature. It is envisioned that superconductors may be used in quantum computers, another topic which I am very familiar with. Finally, I am familiar with the field of nanotechnology- the creation and use of very small devices.
Major publications: Please see: http://faculty1.coloradocollege.edu/~kmlang/papers/paperlist.html
Other areas of personal/professional interests: I have traveled widely to more than 30 countries- and have spent alot of time in Austria, India and South Africa.
