	<title>"Sugar, Sugar"</title>

	<description><![CDATA[Virtually unknown in Europe until the Middle Ages, sugar quickly became ubiquitous in Western diets. Influencing agricultural practices, global economies, dietary habits and language, sugar holds a central place in Western culture. Presented in the I.D.E.A. Space from November 23, 2009 &#8211; January 21, 2010, &quot;Sugar, Sugar,&quot; explores the power of the sweet stuff from a variety of perspectives. The exhibition features historical photographs of the sugar beet industry in Colorado, microscopic enlargements of 
sugar molecules and literary and artistic responses in a variety of media. Visual artists include Gypsy Ames, Julia M. Becker, Karen Kunc, Kate Leonard, Tracy Linder, Christina Marsh and Meredith Nickie. Writers include Jessy Randall and Dave Mason.

	<title>"Performing Sugar"</title>

	<description><![CDATA[&quot;Performing Sugar&quot; is the first of four &quot;Sugar Salons&quot; held in conjunction with the I.D.E.A. Space exhibition &quot;Sugar, Sugar&quot; The evening will feature chemistry experiments with sugar &#8220;performed&#8221; by Colorado College Professor Ted Lindeman and gallery talks by Kate Leonard and featured artists. At 6 pm, I.D.E.A. and the music department will present a performance of &quot;Rare Sugar&quot; in the South Theater. Australian composer Nigel Westlake was inspired to create this contemporary piece after watching a television program about a chemist who works on rare forms of sugar.

	<title>"Many Gods, One World: The Greening of Faiths Around the World"</title>

	<description><![CDATA[Betsy Gaines Quammen, CC graduate of 1990, is the founder and executive director of The Tributary Fund. The Tributary Fund is a nonprofit environmental organization based in Bozeman, Mont., that engages communities around the world in conservation solutions by connecting religious, scientific and local leaders. Each project TTF undertakes joins culture and conservation. A goal of TTF is to promote the protection of native species, lands and waters in a way that is integral to native cultural traditions and practices. TTF is not a religious organization, but recognizes the power and importance of religious beliefs. Core programs in Montana, Mongolia and Africa focus on community involvement for conservation, conservation dialogues with religious leaders in local cultures, and environmental outreach and education.  ]]></description>
