Internal Grants & Fellowships for Students
Over the years Colorado College has benefited considerably from the generosity of alumni, parents and private foundations who have enhanced our students’ educational opportunities by making financial contributions to the College. These donors often establish funding mechanisms with a specified purpose (such as to support the research of students in a particular major), and Colorado College faculty and staff are entrusted to allocate the funding, always keeping in mind the donor’s intended purpose. Because members of the Colorado College community make the decisions on how to allocate funding, these awards are considered “internal” grants and fellowships.
Because the competition for internal grants and fellowships is commonly less fierce than that for the external grants and fellowships, we usually encourage students to learn about – and apply for – internal grants prior to exploring and applying for external grants and fellowships – although this is certainly not a hard-and-fast rule. Apply to what inspires you!
