Carter Herbarium

Carter Herbarium
A variety of plant specimens are catalogued in the Carter Herbarium, located in the Barnes Science Center. Students in Advanced Field Methods work on identifying and cataloguing the plants of the Pikes Peak area, a bioregion that stretches from alpine tundra to desert grasslands, drawing botanists from around the country. The Carter Herbarium, named for longtime Biology Professor Jack Carter, includes more than 15,000 plant specimens.
