Center for Service & Learning

Hey! My name is Jacquie Tilden, I am a sophomore from Seattle, Washington. I am an International Political Economy major and a Spanish minor. I love being involved on campus and feel that the Colorado College community is very encouraging of this. I currently serve as the Constitutional Vice President for CCSGA, am a member of Great Performers & Ideas, participate in various intramural sports, contribute (randomly) to the Leviathan, a student publication, and work as a tour guide for Admissions. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, writing, music, and just having a good time! I have also always been extremely passionate about service.
I absolutely love immersing myself in other cultures and gaining a deeper understanding of their lifestyles, history and beliefs, and I have an immense amount of faith in the idea of a global community. I would like to use my life to learn about, spread awareness of, and support this global community. I hope to eventually work with or begin an international non-profit organization that fights for human rights or deals specifically with the battle against hunger and starvation. I believe there is much change to be done in this world, and feel that those with resources and abilities to help should take full advantage of their situation and contribute what they can. I also know there are many people worldwide who are currently dedicating their lives toward doing so; I would like to join them.
I am incredibly excited about our trip to India; I think we have an awesome team of very passionate and proactive students with similar hopes and aspirations for the trip. I know this is an experience that we will all learn from and constantly apply to other areas of our lives.
YEAH TEAM INDIA!!!
