In the Audio Essay, students will move from writing on the silent page to creating stories through a microphone. For the next three and a half weeks, the class will explore voice literally as an acoustic event, writing and producing an original audio essay in a supportive artistic community. The goal: to help writers discover, develop, and strengthen their capacities of nonfiction that is as compelling to the ear as to the eye. That said, the course will provide a mastery of the media lab, studying technology as language.
