Cyber Sierra's Natural Resources Job Search
This is Cyber-Sierra's job and internship page. It has links to resources assistants, Society for Conservation Biology, Intern-Net, Minority Information Service, Internships and Fieldwork, and many more services. The site is very well organized and one of the more useful ones out there.
Sustainable Business Network Resources
This is the Sustainable Business Network's Internships and Fellowships page. It has individual, current internships from all over on it, complete with job descriptions and contacts. It's a really neat resource - in Jan 1998 they have blurbs for themselves, Second Nature, South face Energy Institute, Permaculture Institute, etc.
This site is geared towards entry and mid-level environmental (primarily social justice) jobs and internships. These jobs are mostly for students and recent college graduates. The keyword search engine distinguishes between full-time/part-time jobs and paid/unpaid internships. The search engine can also list jobs by state.
This is a very comprehensive site covering every environmental field. It has general and specialized listings in addition to helpful environmental career advice. It lists jobs by agencies and geographic location.
Environmental Career Opportunities
This subscription-based organization provides several job postings on its website within a wide range of categories. It publishes a bi-weekly newsletter with over 500 jobs listed that is available in the ERC room.
Orion Grassroots Network
This is a network of over 400 grassroots environmental organizations all over the country. They provide a free job and internship database which lists jobs by environmental fields and states.
This website boasts not only a fairly comprehensive job list, but also other job resources such as a bookstore and a career conference calendar. They advertise a "job searchable board" coming to the website in early March. Jobs listed are mostly professional, but cover all environmental fields. The organization also sponsors a "National Environmental Employment Report" with a paid subscription published every month.
The Environmental Careers Organization
This organization offers free career services on its website including an internship database. The database is searchable by U.S. regions, however, there are not many jobs listed at once.
This website offers an excellent listing of jobs in a variety of environmental fields, however, it is only a listing and the search can not be "broken down". There is also a resume database where anyone can post resumes. There is a fee to access the database itself.
This website offers complete job services from posting resumes to saving job searches all for free. The jobs are searchable by a keyword and location and category of job, however there is a very wide range of jobs all in the natural sciences field. There is an environmental science category.
This organization lists mostly professional jobs in many different natural science fields including, but not limited to geology, remote sensing, biology, and environmental science. Also offers a free resume posting.
Idealist.org (Action Without Borders)
This website is a clearinghouse for all non-profit organizations. It has a very comprehensive, world-wide, and detailed search engine for organizations, jobs, volunteer opportunities, events, internships, career fairs, and resources in the non-profit field.
The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy home page. Just click on their "index" icon and then on "job opportunities." From there they have a well organized list of job subjects (science and stewardship, international, fundraising, etc.) each with many individual job opportunities listed. Overall a pretty useful page, not to mention cool looking
NSF : Research Experiences for Undergraduates
National Science Foundation page with a listing of all of their Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs. These include chemistry, geology, biology, atmospheric studies, physics and much more. These are all summer programs that allow students to work on research projects with graduate students, university faculty, and post-docs.
Guide to Summer Research Opportunities for Undergraduates in Science and Engineering
This is the Yale University guide to summer research opportunities in the sciences. Programs listed include biology, physical sciences, chemistry, earth sciences and others. Each of these categories has a list of internships and jobs associated with it. Not all of these opportunities are environmentally related, but they all look pretty good.
Dan's Environmental Education Bookmark
This site lists links to all types of sources for the environmental education (EE) field. Includes links to residential and non-residential environmental education programs all around the United States.
This is another EE website run under the North American Association for Environmental Education which is the umbrella organization for environmental education in the US. This site contains a job search engine that breaks down to a deadline date and geographic location. It also has a mega-job search of all EE websites.
