The year is 2090. A large tech company is about to release an irreversible ear-implant device that will help you hear things your brain wants to hear, and tune out those things it doesn't want to hear. But there's a bit of a problem: don't agree with someone? Your device will tune them out. Not even your choice. Some consider this a violation of free speech, and begin to boycott its release.
This new musical is filled with rock, rap and even a little electronic music, and includes a diverse cast of characters: an inexperienced police marshal, an entertainment "journalist," a president nostalgic for his days on Broadway, a driven and uncompromising protest leader, a pop star turned activist, and an ego-maniacal and dictatorial First Lady. What happens next between these characters and others in reaction to the impending release of the ear-implants is the plot for: HEAR NO EVIL IN THE YEAR 2090.
