Guidelines for Scheduling of TLC1

The TLC1 computer lab in Tutt Library is primarily for library instruction classes taught by librarians and this purpose always has priority over other uses.

We realize, however, that there is a delicate balance between meeting student instruction needs and also supporting the broader needs of the College. Therefore, we provide the following guidelines for scheduling:

TLC1 should be the computer lab of last resort for classes or meetings that are not library-related. Nevertheless, it is possible to reserve this room for one-time classroom use if it is not scheduled by the library. This lab is not available for daily use by a class.

Description:
TLC1 has 25 desktop computers.

Alternatives:
Support for classroom use of technology is provided by Educational Technology Services (ETS). Faculty needing to use a classroom with computers can reserve a teaching lab through the “online reservation system” on ETS Web site at
https://www.coloradocollege.edu/offices/its/labs/

If a (non-computer) room is needed to show a film, the WES Room in Worner can be scheduled (x6607) or Room 11 in the basement of Armstrong (x6378). If you need a room for presentations (with projection equipment), the TLC3 classroom in the Learning Commons may be an option. It is scheduled through the Learning Commons (x6168).

Availability of TLC1

Blocks 1-2:

  • Due to high demand at the library, this lab is only available for library instruction classes during Blocks 1 and 2.

Blocks 3-8:

  • TLC1 can be scheduled after 3:00 PM. If an earlier time is needed, you can schedule the room, but not earlier than 48 hours in advance. This assures that we will have a lab available to support the instruction needs of CC classes.

Summer:

  • TLC1 can be scheduled after 3:00 PM. If an earlier time is needed, you can schedule the room, but not earlier than 48 hours in advance. This assures that we will have a lab available to support the instruction needs of CC classes.

Software

  • If special software needs to be loaded, it must be arranged on your end. If special software is loaded, it also needs to be removed. This should be arranmged as far in advance as possible-last minute software additions may not be possible due to time constraints!
