Digests and Listservs

Listservs and digests are digital mailing lists which can be used to share information with a list of subscribers.

Digests

There are four primary Daily Digests delivered each morning via email.

Post to one of the primary digests (staff and students both use this link)

You must submit Digest posts before 5:55 a.m. the day of the Digest, or after 6:05 a.m., to ensure they post to the appropriate Daily Digest email. Any posts NOT submitted by that time will not go out in that day's email. Note: You will no longer receive a confirmation email. Once you submit to the Digest, the information will post to the associated Digest blog and be sent in the next 6 a.m. Digest email.

Students, ITS: will approve all Digest submissions. You must submit during regular business hours so posts may be approved.

Re-subscribe to the Daily Digest.

Daily Digest Do's and Don'ts:

  • No one likes Digest spam. Post only to the appropriate Digest (see guidelines below). Post up to three days in a row. No more.

  • To announce college-wide events, select the Events Digest. This list goes to all users on campus (unless they have unsubscribed themselves from the Events Digest list).
  • If you have an announcement relevant only to one group — students, staff, or faculty — select only the appropriate list.

  • Do not post campus-wide event information to the Faculty, Staff, or Student Digests. Post to Campus Calendar instead.

  • Use standard capitalization, punctuation, and style guidelines. Using outrageous capitalization or punctuation to grab attention only makes your information look amateurish.

  • Do NOT submit sales or personal items (house sitting, pets, etc.) to the all-campus lists. Instead, select only the Sales list-serv (see list serv information below). Thank you for helping cut down on unwanted email!

  • Remember: Any information posted to the digest is considered public. Do not include private or sensitive information in your postings.
