All admitted students eligible to receive VA Education Benefits must submit a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility and their VA file number to the Certifying Official in the Registrar's Office. Once received, a VA file will be created and enrollment verification will be submitted to the VA. Enrollment verifications are submitted to the VA before each semester, in August, January and June.
All V.A. students are responsible for notifying the Certifying Official when courses are dropped or if you are withdrawing from the college. The V.A. requires that students must declare a major before they begin their junior year.
The V.A. currently caps the 2014-15 benefits at $20,235.02 per year for private colleges.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Beginning with the 2013-14 Academic Year, Colorado College will participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students are expected to complete our Application for Veteran Education Benefits and the Statement of Understanding and submit to the Certifying Official in the Registrar's Office.
Current students must reapply at the end of each academic year. New students will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis or placed on a waitlist if necessary. Only admitted students' applications will be accepted or placed on the waitlist.
Colorado College offers 5 undergraduates $7000 matched by the VA's contribution of $7,000 (total of $14,000), and 10 graduate students $5,000 matched by the VA's contribution of $5,000, (total $10,000). The Yellow Ribbon benefit is in addition to the private college benefit of $20,235.02 per academic year, Aug. 1, 2014-Aug. 1, 2015.
We are currently at our maximum limit of 5 undergraduates for the Yellow Ribbon Program and have 4 students on the waitlist.
